UNDERSTANDING
MY STYLE
You can request a session by filling out my contact form. From there we can pick a date and a location based on your preferences.
Waterfalls, rivers and lakes, Mount Rainier or Snoqualmie offer a variety of PNW landscapes to fit every vision. Or we can stay close to home from Seattle to Tacoma. There are a plethora of parks around the South Sound region. In-home newborn and couple sessions can also a be great option.
I also offer a few mini-session dates every year and you can do a direct booking through my website.

I consider my photography a mix of storytelling and editorial. I want drama (don't worry, only in my photos). I will prompt you to kick of a series of natural interactions that you can feel in the images.
I place a strong emphasis on capturing the clearest possible focal points and getting creative angles for the biggest impact.
Sometimes i'm shooting from waist deep water. Sometimes i'm standing on a log over a river or laying down in bushes. You never know what your session might look like. But I will do everything in my power to get the shot.

I have always STRONGLY felt that photos should be a clear depiction of reality. I use true to life colors. I carefully select images for black and white edits. Some are duplicates in black and white, maybe with a heavy crop. Others are exclusively color or black and white. Your photos won't be overly yellow, green or any other colors that are trendy and popular for a blip. No sepia scandals here.
I have never been one to lean into fleeting photography trends. I want my photos to feel timeless and as clear as possible. You can expect contrast, often on the darker side in the moody PNW environment.
I am NOT a light and airy photographer. I strive to properly expose my images so they aren't a wash of white.

A bit about me
and why I love photography...
Hi 👋 im Jess. I moved from Maryland to the Pacific Northwest in 2021 with my husband and 2 boys. Our third boy is a Washington baby. We have fallen in love with the beauty of this place.
I have been passionate about photography since childhood. My father excelled at film photography, and I often thumbed through massive albums asking questions about the people, the places, the stories. It felt so important. I wanted to be a part of capturing the history, the memories, for anyone who would let me.
