Say Yes With Jess Photography
So you want a less traditional, slower, more intimate experience?
I LOVE that for you! You won't regret making your day about you and your partner, and not about catering to a huge, budget-busting guest list, venue and extensive vendors. But I don't have to convince you of that. You know WHAT you want. You're here to decide WHO you want to document your vision.
I celebrate ALL couples. LGBTQ+, all religions, beliefs, love is love and all love should be cherished.
What counts as a Micro-wedding? Typically a Micro-wedding is a max total of 40 people, including vendors, the couple and guests.

Understand who I am, my photographic style, and how I shoot, edit and interact with my clients.
First and foremost, I firmly believe ALL love should be celebrated with my whole heart. LGBTQ+ i’m here for it with bells on. Christian, Atheist, Pagan? I’ve got you. Something I need you to know is that I will do whatever is in my power to ensure your day goes down how you envision. And my clients will never just be clients. We are old friends, the cousins you spent all your time with growing up, i’m the girl in the unfiltered group chat you can tell anything without judgement. Your wins are my wins, and your happiness is my top priority, period. let’s get down to the things you need to know about what I do, and what I provide for my clients, not just who I am in my personal life.
I’m a clean edit, editorial storytelling photographer. What does this mean? I have spent years honing my photography skills to capture the cleanest, sharpest images with mostly true to life color. What is an editorial storytelling photographer? A blending of fashion-magazine aesthetics with authentic love to create intentional, artistic images. Emphasizing movement, light, shadow, and thoughtful composition for a curated feel, the goal is to mix careful posing with genuine emotion and interactions for an elevated final gallery. I want to tell your story by prompting compelling posing. I want to guide you with carefully planned interactions that result in images that can stand alone. I want every photo you share with your people to have its own wow-factor, and to show you in the most flattering light. This doesn’t mean I don’t focus on the details. I absolutely adore finding the smaller aspects of you and creatively rounding out your gallery. But I strive for those images to be able to stand alone as well.
I selectively choose black and white edits for special moments — a touch, expression, or movement — that will be elevated by the simplicity of monochrome. Often these edits are singled out and occasionally a duplicate of their color counterpart, because sometimes they are equally beautiful. I don’t follow photography trends. I am not light and airy (overexposed). I don’t add a green, blue, orange or yellow tint to your images. And I wont be turning everything brown. I strive for bold color accuracy with contrast and creamy neutrals. You should not anticipate a gallery full of crooked horizons, blurry, out of focus images, or unintentional motion blur. I choose moments when these techniques should be applied, and use them sparingly. Trends are constantly evolving and aging. These photos are the lasting memories you hand down for generations. Those memories deserve clarity and quality.
I love adventuring with eloping couples. It fills my cup. I specialize in Snoqualmie, Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park area elopements, micro-weddings, proposals and engagement sessions. I am all over Washington to mid-Oregon primarily but always open to travel. My hobbies are editing, creative shoots, and capturing couples in beautiful places. Basically all photography all the time. Hey, love what you do and all that right?
The Experience
Probably the best thing about eloping or having an intimate micro-wedding is you can shirk tradition and do things your way. It's your day after all. Each one is unique. A slower pace, really being present. But what can you expect from me?
Think of me as a Wedding Planner-lite, Bridal Attendant and honorary, bonus Maid of Honor. From permits and legal stuff, to scouting accommodations, timeline and location planning and bustling your dress if need be, i'm here for all of it. We will work together to plan adventures, activities, meals, all the little details.
The Process
I. discovery call
Whether you’re still shopping photographers, or ready to book with me, I will schedule a call to discuss your vision for the big day. In preparation, you will receive a brief questionnaire to make our call more efficient and give me some guidance on initial preparations so I can present my recommendations for your day.
II. booking
To officially book my services, I will need both of your full legal names and a good email for each of you for your contract. I will also need the date or date range. A 30% non-refundable Retainer will follow to complete your booking. The remaining balance will be due 3 days prior to your event.
III. What next?
Think of an elopement/micro-wedding photographer as a wedding planner of sorts, on a smaller scale. Im happy to help you look for accommodations, vendors, etc., but I leave the booking and purchases to you.
Within 2 weeks of booking, I will start preparing a detailed timeline and location plan. I will present my recommendation for locations and timeline, including hiking, driving, and all desired events and activities. I try to include images, maps, and a few alternative options to help you envision what your day could look like. From there we will work to lock in the plan. The timeline for this process will vary depending on how far out you are booked.
IV. the legal stuff
After we lock in the date and location for your ceremony, I will help you navigate the process for your permits (if needed), as well as your marriage license.

How do we know how much time we need?
First decide what you want to include. Be thoughtful about this.
What environments do you want to include? Mountains, waterfalls, forest, ocean? Do you have guests or will it be just the two of you? Will there be food? Entertainment? Do you want to adventure AND celebrate with guests? Do you want your guests to adventure with you? Or do you just want a traditional wedding, only smaller? Are you morning people or night owls?
All of these are critical questions to ask yourselves. If you know what you want, I can guide you on how much coverage you will need. If you need to exceed your anticipated timeframe by an hour or two, I have an hourly rate I can bill after your wedding.
